What Exactly is a Dental Spa?
The "Dental Spa" concept was started years ago in Dallas, Texas and has grown to be a very popular way of eliminating the stress and anxiety associated with a visit to the dentist. The Dental Spa was designed to cater to the patient and eliminate all the reasons patients use to avoid seeking the dental care they need. You'll be looking forward to your next visit!
Our Dental Spa offers proven relaxation techniques during your entire visit - from the ambiance as you enter the office, to the aromatherapy and massage that is offered during your visit. Don't like the taste of our materials? We offer sugarless gum or a pocket strip. Don't like the sound of a drill? We offer headphones and a large CD/DVD collection. Don't like the smell of a dental office? We offer aromatic face towels. Don't like looking up the Dr./Hygienist's nose? We offer flatscreen TV's in each room. Don't like your lips feeling stretched out? We offer three flavors of lip balm to take with you. Don't like the chill of nerves? We have blankets, warm neck rolls, a fireplace, and a warm parafin hand dip to warm you up and a massage therapist who makes sure the nerves don't return!!
We see your visit as our chance to serve and share in the lives of some great people. There are many good dentists in town, but not as many interested in ensuring that you got more than you paid for!
It is very important to us that we provide excellent dentistry with integrity in a relaxed atmosphere.
Why Massage?
● Reduces anxiety and stress
● Slows the heart-rate
Research has shown that when the heart-rate is
slowed, there is less need for additional anesthesia.
● Helps relieve muscle soreness
Sometimes associated with long dental procedures.
~ It just feels good! (and its free!)
A soothing and relaxing massage has a positive psychological effect as it helps counteract the effects of stress. Massage not only eases tense stiff muscles, it improves circulation as well. Research has shown that it increases endorphin levels, which stimulate our immune system and pleasure responses. Massage also triggers relaxation responses by increasing the depth of breathing and slowing the body's pace down to a reasonable level for everyday living. It benefits you by creating true relaxation - before stress becomes chronic and damaging. We have specialty TMJ or lymphatic drainage massage also.
Full Body Massages are available for our patients at $50 per hour!
****Even though we find that massage will relax most patients, we do have sedation as an option also.
Why Aromatherapy?
● Enhance immune response
● Induce relaxation
~ Not have the "dental offfice smell"
Aromatherapy research shows it can enhance immune response and, in small doses, can alter brainwaves to induce relaxation. All of these responses are beneficial in creating a relaxed and anxiety-free experience while receiving dental care.
While all of our services are complimentary, they are also optional. Please feel free to enjoy as much or as little as you want!
